Comments: Dear Vietnam Vets,I grew up in Danang. For as long as I could remember, at night the VC would disrupt our lives with artillery shells and other scare tactics. It was your presence that
kept them in check. Because of you, I was able to enjoy a safer, happier childhood. For that, I am extremely grateful to you! Please always remember that what you fought for, freedom and
democracy, were worthy and noble causes in my eyes. Because of your work, the seeds of freedom were passed on to me, and I am today able to embrace this freedom and grow to my fullest.
What a tremendous gift you have given me!

Comments: On September 15, 1967 my fiance Ronald Eugene Showmaker was killed in Vietnam, he was 20 years old, I was 18. I will never forget his memory or forget all those who died as he did. I always get sad around Memorial Day and Veterans Day. God Bless all Veterans and God Bless America. I am now married to a Vietnam Veteran who served 18 months as a Medic in Vietnam, we have only been married 8 years and only yesterday did I find out from an old newspaper article his mother gave me that he is the recipient of The Silver Star, Bronze Star, Army Comendation Medal and Purple Heart. He doesn't like to talk about this war but I am so proud of him for his heroism even if he feels ashamed and gulity as I have heard most Vietnam Veterans do, have enjoyed this web page and the information it provides.

Comments:Thanks for posting your work. It's good for me to see your pictures of you today but I've learned over the
years 'since' I can identify best when I can visualize how 'we' looked then. So thanks also for posting the
picture of the good lookin' kid. I'm pretty sure you and I are very close in age. I became 22 aboard ship
in 8/65 enroute to the Danang area. Good old improvising Marines sure policed up the area after I left.
China Beach, Monkey Mtn (the road!). Your pictures are a real treasure; thanks for sharing them.

Comments: This website is a beautiful tribute to all those who served our country.
My husband served in Nam on 3 separate tours. I was blessed he came back.
The terrible tragedies he witnessed and the loss of some of his closest friends was heartbreaking.
My heart goes out to the families of those who never made it back home from this senseless conflict.
So many lives were ruined, and so many of the men that did come home are still feeling the effects of this.
Their lives will never be the same again.
God Bless You All. Love & Peace,      Mary
